Considering that they both came out in less than a month's time, it's hard not to compare Metamorphosed to its predecessor, Protean Threat. This album is fundamentally different from the structure of Protean Threat, which has 13 short yet similar songs, compared to Metamorphosed's three heavy introductions, followed by these two trippy journeys into the past. Not all of Protean Threat's tracks stand out, but Metamorphosed is hard to ignore at every turn. In general, the first three tracks are similar in style to Protean Threat, so they can be called a stylistic continuation or addition to the last album.
