Smote Reverser

While a majority of their output prior to Smote Reverser was indeed steeped in the psychedelic, both this album and the one that follows it take quite a few pages out of the books of traditional progressive rock groups of the twentieth century. It feels like most old Oh Sees songs, except there are new elements of, yes, jazz. Songs roam from fantastical laid-back instrumental marathons to fast and heavy electric artillery.
